Teresa and Denee' ride

This past Saturday, Teresa and I went for a little ride! Being involved in helping, advising, just being there for new riders is a much fun for me as anything! I think of her like my daughter in that I want her riding to be as safe as possible, but to have fun and it be eventful, and eventually become trusting in herself and abilities as a rider to go wherever she wants!

It's difficult to remember back a while riding my first bike alone, but traffic when I was growing up was pretty much non existent (1974ish), plus mainly went riding on street/trail bike. I remember no fear from then.

She and I traveled down Cypress N Houston, Cy-fair stadium, feeder of 290 to get up some speed/and speed limit, and up/over to Jones road; not sure of the distance nor time accumlated. I couldnt' help smile along the way, she looks really good on her bike! Darn I wish I had had my camera!! Kodak moment! By about 11:00ish am, traffic began picking up, and I admit makes riding kind of Unfun, or not as fun, and traffic lights/being stuck in traffic; just part of the routine but from her point of view, may be intimidating; she'll have to pick the word best to describe her feelings.

In purchasing my most recent sportbike for the street, I must had had a little brain damage to have bought it! But I miss an occasional ride, even if for only 30minutes on a Sunday morn when traffic is at its least; thou thy shall always be on guard at any given moment on the street; this we know! 'Something wicked this way comes', is always lurking about on the street.

For Teresa, I know she will not be in any hurry when she rides! and doesn't matter which road she takes, as said, "if you don't know where you're going; any road will get you there!", which is totally acceptable when sportbike riding, cause you and I ,and Teresa, want to be on our bike to enjoy it on any given road!

I hope I don't sound like a grandma or fuddydud the way I ride! I can go fast just like the rest of you, but know my limitations by experience/trial and error~ I have fallen and know what it's like to be hurt, but here to tell the tale, as I'm sure many of you have a story/stories to tell that would shutter me timbers!! lol
Safe riding everyone!
denee'

Great to see you too!! No pictures from Teresa's ride, but a few from yesterdays' trackday; nothing terrific though. I'm going to fire my husband as the photographer! lol

I can say that on my leathers, I had some sponsor patches sewn on by Jessie (Near Patricks shop), and I highly recommend him for anything leather!

Well we originally were going to ride much earlier, but I wanted to wait until the chill of the air lessened, then it became really warm by the time we got on the street.

i had a wonderful time riding, i wish i could do it more. it was great getting out there. i really enjoyed getting on the street in traffic, it was kinda scary, but its something that i will have to get used to, something i will always be faced with. so every time out is a learning experiance. BUT i had an effin BLAST!

Load up the truck or trailer and ride 149/3090 during the week in the morning. No traffic whatsoever. Good street practice and not too many cars to deal with. Don't go on the weekends though.
