09 Datyona 675 won't start...

Provided I can borrow a truck from work, I'll be bringing the bike by Motorcycles Unlimited this weekend, IF I can manage to also get saturday off lol. So In the mean time I want to see what I can check, and maybe I'll get lucky, or discover it's something under warranty.

Yesterday, leaving work, the bike had trouble starting. Turned key, heard fuel pump, saw the tach sweep, starter turned over. Everything sounded just like it always has, but it wouldn't fire up. After a few minutes of repeating the proccess it started up. I let it idle for 5 minutes, and shut it off. Then it started back up with no issue. This morning, it wouldn't start, at all. Same thing, I have power, pump comes on, won't fire up.

What can I run through tonight to troubleshoot, and see if I can resolve this without missing work, borrowing a truck, etc.

Sometimes we get caught up trying to solve the bigger problems we over look the small stuff. Have you checked the spark? Was it riding rough at all before it just gave out?

That's what I'm hopin for.

No issues before yesterday. I rode in that morning and everything seemed fine. I haven't checked the spark. With four plugs, even if one was going out, I'd still get some fire to the cylinders, right?

I would assume so, but i would assume it would be something you'd want to check just in case.

I had a similar problem, and it was a faulty grounding wire. I have no idea the DIY procedure for that, but it might be a place to start.

When I turn the bike on, the dash lights up and does the tach sweep as usual, and the fuel pump turns on. When I push the ignition it cranks, makes the same noise/rythm it always has, just doesn't actually start.

It gets ridden daily. Bought it new last august, has 24K miles now. Short trips to the store, and 30 miles to work.

Found your problem- you got a triple not a four cylinder. Check your fuses and fuel pump relay. Check your plugs for spark, if no spark may be the rectifier.
