A Question for the Ladies

My girlfriend is about 5'1 and she wants a bike but cant touch on a stock height. How much do I need to lower a bike for her and what bike would be best? It has to be a 600cc, dosnt matter what make, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha whatever. Just the best for her to start and be comfortable.

Does She know how to ride?
MSF?
Why a 600?

This might help in answering the post.

You're going to have a hard time finding a 600 that will be easy for her to flat foot. You're going to have a hard time finding anything but cruisers that accommodate her height well. Just remind her that it's her first bike, not her last, and that learning with both feet on the ground is much easier.

Generally the 250 ninja is a good starter bike if she wants to keep it sport. It works well for the shorter rider and you can always adjust the suspension. Plus it has less power for beginners. I'm getting ready to buy one for the wife as well.

I had a GXSR 600 and I got it lowered 1.5 inches, it was very comfortable but I'm 5'4 and I was at the ball of my feet but very comfortable, you have to get use to it! I got use to it! I now have a R6 and on my toes, I feel very comfortable on it! She will eventually mold into the bike as part of her body, but I agree if it's her very first bike 250 is the way to go to get comfortable, then she can grow up to a bigger bike as she gets comfortable riding.

Narrow your search down with this. This should show you which bike will require the least work to fit her.

SV has a taller seat height than most current 600cc bikes, actually.
