Alvin 21 Trial

We had our trial today. Before the trial the prosecutor offered another deal ($200 and 1 day deffered) and all but 4 of us took it. So the 4 of us went through with the trial, defended by Fresnel Phan (wackjum). Phan defended us fantastically.

Needless to say, we won. All four of us received a "not guilty" verdict.

Sadly, Alvin still got a lot of money from all of the people that took deals.

If you need a lawyer to represent you, call Fresnel. He's legit!

He did! We had to go through the entire trial process. But he did an amazing job and convinced the jury of "reasonable doubt."

He did a great job and you could tell he had the cop frustrated with his questions.

I agree, for some people. Personally, I'm a salary-based employee (just had to use some vacation time) and only paid the legal fees to Fres. All the other guys paid $200-300+, and many still came to court both on the arraignment day and today for trial.

I think it was a huge victory.

The system works! I was always very skeptical, but I saw it today. Pretty cool.

If there was. Ever a time for someone to pull out a camera. GoPro or at least a cell phone to record...

This would have been epic!

Can we get our hands on the trial notes/script? Aren't they publicly available? Some sort of Alvin DA vs Wackjum?

Ask one of the defendants to get a copy from the court reporter. You will need to pay them, I think it is by the page.

Most Municipal Courts, Alvin included, are courts of no record. This is allowed by Texas law for JP and Municipal courts.

As a matter of fact, one of the most impressive municipal courts I know of is Pearland, which takes their cases very seriously. They call themselves "Pearland Municipal Court of Record" because having a record at that level is very unusual.
