wheelie help

sup motohouston fam? I ride a 2000 r1 with a few bells and whistles. The problem i am having is i cant bring it up in 2nd gear. I can get it to pop up just a few inches, what am i doing wrong.

use your clutch. Rev, release, revel in all that is the wheelie. and cover that rear brake.

run the gear out to about 12 grand, quickly let off the throttle then slam it wide open and see when happens.

or

run the gear out to about 10-12 grand, pull in the clutch and bounce the throttle off the rev limiter and dump the clutch

Practice, practice, and more practice. Always cover the back brake.
Back brake is more important so that you dont loop. Then get throttle control. Try to be smooth.
I guess it would be easier to find some one that know what they are doing so that they can watch you and give you pointers on what you are doing wrong.
