636 First Hand Review?

anyone ride or have ridden a 636, i've heard the ergos are way to aggressive for long hauls (more so than its competitors) but then i've read about how people have made 350+mile trips with no problem on theirs. ive only had the opportunity to sit on one and not ride it, so im not sure on it.

reason i ask is because i may just may be coming into one extremely soon.

They are about the same of any other 600SS. A 300+mile ride is totally dependant on how much u can tolerate. I had a 2006 and loved it.....

Princess rode his a month ago during a 2-day Austin/Hill Country Ride just under 800 miles...I don't think he had any complaints. I think ergos have a LOT more to do with the rider than the bike though.

Nothing but great things to say. I've done up to 400 miles in a day but I never really cared for or expected comfort on a SS bike

I absolutely LOVE mine. The 05-06 is actually generally more comfortable than other SS bikes for.most. the 03-04 doesn't seem.to be as comfortable though. The only problem I've had in 40,000 miles is a relay went out at 4k. Azylum has taken it out before as well and jokingly called it a fast sport tourer as compared to his old 06 gsxr 600. 2005s are known to have second gear issues, but its a relatively small amount.

Love mine. I think the longest trip I've been on it is probably 150-200 miles with no issues.

I'm at 15k miles now with no issues.

03'S are great, not too heavy for smaller riders, ergos like said before are not too much worse than most 600ss, lots of low end torque the only issue I had with it was the hazards were replaced for a track timer... seems useless for a streetbike

Hazards for a Kawasaki are useless as well.

The 03-04s are light bikes. I want to say the lightest for their time(maybe still) but I'm not 100% so you'd need to check for yourself. They have more torque than the 05-06, but slightly less top end power mainly due to the 05-06 getting the KIT race cams stock. Comfort is subjective when comparing SS bikes, but the general consensus from people on Kawiforums who have owned both say the 05-06 is more comfortable, but if you're moving from an older Honda SS I'm sure it's more comfortable.

i have ridden all the 600's and the 636 is the most comfortable riding for me, everyone may have different opinions but i really like the way it runs and handles
