Aside from the ticket dismissal deal, there are other DOT requirements that "schools" have to have to be called a "school". If you guys are getting away with insurance claims because they allow you to attend a trackday "school", you may want to make sure the provider you attend is actually qualified and documented that way.

LSTD has these requirements, but I can't speak for the others. It's easy to find out if the others do or don't. Being easy for you, also stands to reason that it would be easy for your insurance company too... which should make folks worry.

Two different things on this topic that apply to the questions:

1. There is only one track day provider certified to provide DDC for traffic ticket dismissal.

2. There are requirements by the DOT for track day providers to be able to call themselves a "school", thereby allowing insurance companies to legitimately allow claims for that. LSTD does have this, easy to see if the others do too.

Just trying to provide everyone with the pertinent information here; it may be very important if/ when the time comes to file a claim on your pride and joy if crashed during a track day "school".

basically if you wreck take the lap timer off and never speak of it. That was with Ball Insurance and Progressive.
don't take what an agent tells you. Geico told me originally the same thing until I read throught the policy in detail. Fine print, my brotha. Looks like from my research, Foremost and Statefarm are the only true choices that label it in the contract. Just saying

I am a State Farm agent but I am not 100% sure about the coverage in a track day because last thing I knew we do not cover in RACES, now if that is considered a School Class I believe it will be cover. I need to talk to my underwriters.

I read my State Farm policy front to back and front again and could not find a thing that excluded coverage for track days.
