Kawasaki ZZR??

Hi.

Just want some opinions on the Kawasaki ZZr's. What do yall think of it and why is it not as popular as the rest of the 600's?

It's pretty much a previous model ZX-6R. Nowadays it's just a softer all-around sportbike. Higher bars, lower seat, less power, heavier, cheaper.

It's not the razor sharp tool that te newest 'R's are but us still a very capable bike.

It's an old 2000 bike that's still made with a different name. It used to be one of the best of the best. but 11 years is a long time in motorcycle years.

Youre right, it IS heavy. Didnt realize that (also bc I dont have anything to compare it to except for a 250, lol). Really? Outdated look? Iiiinteresting bc some ppl say that but I think all the bikes look almost the same.

Is it bad to have higher bar and lower seats? That just affects our position on the bike, right?

I like this bike, just curious to know why others dont. It looks good and fine to me.

lololol. That made me feel better knowing it was one of the best of the best. Its just a fad thing then. Years ago everyone and anyone had that blue and white gixxer. EVERYONE!

Ok so, the reasons arent THAT bad.

Na It'll keep up with just about anything.. Carbed is the most annoying thing about it.

I almost bought one myself years ago.

It's just not ultra-modern. Kawasaki got it right when they made that ZX-6R a decade ago and instead of just retiring it when the newer race iterations came out they rebadged it and sold it as a "second tier" model.

It is a sport bike by today's standards, not a super sport.
It is more comfortable to ride, still plenty fast, a bit heavy. I really like it overall, The only negative to me is the carbs due to reliability compared to fuel injection.

zzr's are good bikes if you apply enough monster decals.

i have a coworker who squids on a zzr. he rides like a greased . all touchin knee in a 35mph turn just outside of work and like that.

My current ride is a zzr1200. I love it. It is on the heavy side but can also be ridin for long distance with no trouble. I've put 1300miles on mine in the last week. Yes its carbed, as for under powered? Are you looking to have 200+HP? What type of riding are you going to do? What kind of budget? In terms of bang for your buck. In my opinion the zzr is a great value. I picked mine up with 14k miles on it last year for $1900 I have since put just over 22k more on it with doing routine maintenance (tires, Hans, tune UPS, oil changes).

I have 40,000 on mine, while not a ZZR it is still pretty much the same bike. I like mine and originally was going for something like a VFR, There was a comparison between the two and that sold me on the ZX6R as it was a little sportier than the VFR yet not as uncomfortable as some of the other super sports that where coming out.

heavy.. yeah maybe 30-40 pounds more than the latest and greatest race replica... which matters not a bit on the street

carbed, so what jet kits are cheaper than electronics...

lower power.. what, 20 hp or so? I know "certain" people that get in plenty of trouble on a 500...

looks? Boy, ain't that a little subjective...
