Stupid reason sounds about right I can not see that being a good reason in anyway to get the extra power from the 400cc that you will never use ... Are you wanting it just to say you have a 1000?

929/954 is a good bike... plenty of power for everyday riding, massive storage trunk... but if your looking for somthing new i'd say go with new R1.... just my opinion though

Have fun!

Be safe!

i never said i needed a 1000 i said i wanted one........

thats why ive asked for some input because i am looking for a rational purchase not just the one driven by my emotional want.....

i believe that the 750 or the 600 is the best decision......

now which one????

If you mainly commute, are you dead set on a SS/RR/R6R1/GSXR?

There are a lot of other models out there, that are not so razor edge as the liter sporters.

You're on the right track, just looking at the wrong bikes......

For a great commuter bike check out the Z1000 or the FZ1. They're 1000's so they have nice power without having to rev them up, but they're tuned to be a bit more rider friendly than the race replica bikes.

They're not as pretty, but they're a boat load of fun to ride & way more comfortable.
