new bike???

i am lost as to what i should do....

i have owned a yamaha yzf 600r for 2 years now and i love this bike, but, i have had endless transmission problems ( its in the shop now ) im not blaming anyone or pointing any fingers for my bad luck, im just stating fact.

My wife and i have given alot of thought to purchasing a new motorcycle for me! , the problem is, i have no clue what i want..........i thought i wanted a liter bike but i see that after sunday's ride a 600 is plenty capable of doing more than i am capable of using. so, i think about buying another 600, BUT i am afraid of buying another 600 and in a short period of time wishing i would have spent 2000 and bought another 400ccs!

also i have, due to a comment by a co-worker, looked at the buells a lil......has anyone had any seat time on one? are they ? are they great?

any wisdom would be appreciated!

I haven't heard much about the buells except I dont like their short wheel bases. Id stay away from it. Pretty much any of the newer 600s will be plenty power or maybe get a 750. I personally dont see any reason for a 1k but thats just me. As far as which one to get..well I recommend sitting on a few and seeing what feels comfortable to you. Me..well I cant stand the way a yamaha feels..but again..thats ust me. Shop around, dont rush and see what fits you and your budget the best. Again..if it was me check out the honda 600rr or a suzuki 600 or 750. Good luck

try a 600 RR, "I" like them better than the yamaha's but you might want to look into a 750, little bit more power and something different. You dont need the other 400 ccs man, you are not going to get to use them enough out here.

i mainly commute...so a new bike is fine...

plus with the trans problems ive had, i dont want to put the 600r thru any unnecessary abuse....i dont want any reason for yamaha to be able to say that the bike was "raced".....even if we consider it "close course instruction" everybody else sees it as racing.......

so far yamaha has been very good about warr., even now it is at my dealer being worked on for the 3rd time.......

i would rather get the trans fixed, sell it, and purchase something else......

take it frm someone with an 1000rr you dont need the extra 400cc. If I knew what I know now I would have gotten a 600 hands down. Dont get me wrong it is fun and all just more power than anyone needs on the street there is nothing a 1000 can do on the streets here that a 600 cant do ..That is why I will hopefully be buying a 600cc track bike this weekend if all goes as planned Wooo Hoooo! Just my opinion though!

Gotta agree I love my 929 man but I wish i had a 600 all the time, I just dont get to use all the bike 99%of the time. And man are the 600's easy to throw around for the most part. But I would trade the 929 for anything just wish I had a 600 as well so I could use the 929 on the track.

2 months after i purchased the 600r i was wishing for the 1000, i now realise that 2years ago i had no right to be on a 1000, but im just afraid of purchasing a 10,000 dollar bike and then having buyers remorse because it does not have that awe inspiring difference in performance......its stupid but......

i havent thought about the 750's much but that may be the best compromise...(plus the wife gets her way and i get a suzuki)!!!!!!!

like i said i dont want to put the 600r on the track for fear of inadvertantly(sp) voiding the extended warranty.
