Mmm...sexy. Kinda like a giant amazon with bug kazongas, leopard print bikini and carrying a spear. I will pass.
I would rather have an X-Challenge, WR250X, heck even a XR650. Cool tech, but way overpriced and oversized. Try picking that up from a dirt nap.

I don't know about that, for a certain segment of riders the 1200gs is the ne plus ultra of two wheeled travel. That doesn't make it any prettier.

I had the opportunity to put a couple hundred miles on one a few months back and they are amazing bikes. It looks big and unwieldy but it handles great, has plenty of torque and carves up the twisties fairly well. I would have to agree the look is a love it or hate it deal as they are different.

While it is a very functional bike, it still looks like someone set it on fire and put it out with a track shoe

I'd rock one of those over most other bikes, but I have a KLR so that's not saying much.

I never liked them until watching Long Way Round.

Ridden a friend of mines and I tell you I contemplated on buying one before getting my VFR. Way comfortable and it's the ultimate dual sport bike. Very worthy and reliable. But yes you either love it or hate it.

Until the final drive spontaneously combusts!!!

There's a few things that you have to maintain (valve checks are obviously very easy) but they will run forever.
