I agree, I love a bike that sounds like a John Deere tractor. that sexy F1 sound

v-4's and v-twins. i-4's are efficient, but no sould like was stated. i-3's are too buzzy, parallel twins are boring, boxers are too vibratey

An I4 R1 crossplane with aftermarket exhaust is about the best sound around.

The best sounding would be the V4, the best power plant would be the V-Twin or L-Twin! Power to me is torque and the twins have the torque

RSV4 yes.. Ducs all sound like they need to tighten some bolts or something.. the tinny rattle of the dry clutch takes away from the exhaust note.

when I think along the lines of the best power plant, somehow.. sound does not come into play....I think of what I want from a power plant...power, and how dependably it delivers that power.. I am not looking to rebuild after a 10 second ride...I look for something that is going to get me where I want to go, at the speed I want to get there and do it over and over and over...
and no one design will cover all the different types of riding I want to do... each has a function it preforms better than the other...
