The first pic, that is what happens when you have long legs and arms on the new sport bikes... but he could get his head back up and not touch the elbow, so it is more for show.

He still has room on the peg, even with the elbow down.

Waaaay back when I was younger, it would be knee, ankle, side of boot and peg, but I never got close to the elbow. Probably tucking it in unconciously.

First pic is definitely forced elbow touching. Yates' photo is not. He's actually picking up his upper body a little.

This isn't forced either, barley off the bike..

That is easy and I'm a big guy. I always look for quick corners or turns to get a kne down on. I think in my whole bike riding experience. Hit corners is the best. The adrenaline rush is always there....
