Thumbs down Adios Geico Hello Progressive

Short Version: Geico not only tried but in fact me (with no lube). So I switched to Progressive and go A LOT more coverage for a small increase.

Longer version: Never thought I would have a Progressive moto policy...Never say never!

I'm glad I called Geico to change my address tonight. It turns out they canceled my policy. Why? bc the said they never received the signed documents refusing non insured and PIP from me. BS, it has been sent multiple times. So since March of this year my bike hasn't been covered even though I paid for the full year up front... Long story short, I'm a very unhappy customer...actually former customer.

I went to Progressive via USAA and bam! they hooked me up with better coverage for 80 bucks more a year.

Tomorrow's phone call to Geico is going to get nasty. I was very polite with them today but tomorrow and of course to create a paper trail that will go straight the the BBB.

When I got my Progressive MC renewal last month they had lowered the rate. It's now $96/yr with comprehensive.

The boat went up though

I've had to file 2 claims with Progressive. Once when my suv got broken into and once when I introduced my cruiser to a ditch. Both times it was handled extremely quickly and they gave me NO bs.

My suv got broken into at 3am, called the 1-800 number and they had an Explorer waiting for me at 7:30am right down the road. Didn't even take them 2 days to turn it around.

My bike was declared a total loss and Progressive sent me a check for $400 more than I paid for it in about a week. Can't beat that.

I'm with Geico and having issues with them. I purchased insurance online in March. I declined... I believe personal injury and something else. I e-signed the form. Got a letter two months ago (June) stating that I failed to e-sign and my rates were to be changed by around +$700 a year. I, of course, refused to pay the increase so they cancelled my plan. After fighting with them, they agreed to honor the original rates. I would have to mail/fax signature to reinstate which I immediately did. They charged me $108 for the two weeks until my signature came in. As far as I'm concerned, I was uninsured. I have a cancellation letter and a reinstatement letter. I demanded a refund. I am still in the complaints process regarding it and having very little success. Very unhappy about that but Progressive is not for me. Come March, I will be changing to somebody else for sure.

Progressive ftw I have full coverage with them and I only pay $78 a month! 25yrs old, good credit, clean driving record, sport touring bike, and being sexay also helps with the low payments.

$76 a year for progressive liability only. Geico wanted something like $235 a year for the same coverage. They keep trying to get me to come back to them...I always say if you can beat Progressive's rates and let them go through the process, and give me a number then I kind of hmmm and so on, and say can't you come down a little bit and so on til they ask what I am paying now, and then they get really quiet when I tell em.

Salik that's total BS.

You need to call back and, like Stricken, ask for your sexay discount!

$264/year full coverage on the sportster with progressive, and they were great when I dropped my bike back in 2008.

I'm about to renew with progressive, but I hear they no longer cover Rider School (Fastline for example). Anyone know if it's true???

If that is true, I am going to go elseware I think.

They did a nice job when I slid my junk along the roof of a parking garage.

Full coverage with Progressive 140/year. Been with them for past 3 years now. Before them was Dairyland, who were only slightly higher. Insurance companies go very easy on the SV650.

they don't have 1000 cc motorcycles. once you get to the 1k level, insurance goes stupid.
