14. The 12 was an awesome bike, ergos more like a sportbike than a "hyperbike" and plenty of power. But nowadays you can get a sportier bike with more power (gsx-r 1000) for example.

Better for? Overall, truthfully the 14 is the more advanced bike.

A tad more torque, a bit heavier, longer wheelbase...

BUT, the 12R is just... a 12R. If you don't know, you don't understand

Doesnt the 12 have just over 90ft-lbs torque and the 14 just over 105? That's a pretty good gap.

IMO..12R is better for cornering (shorter wheel base)...think the reach from seat to bars is also closer, so you wont be stretched out like on the 14....14 makes more power, but, the 12 has enough for street.......i would choose the 12 over a 14 or busa....

I've owned both and I love both of them! The 2000 ZX-12 was great on the street, always wanted to be wide open, lots of power! The 2008 ZX-14 is a Cadillac, more refined and smooth, loves to be wide open, lots of power! Two different bikes, two different feels, but both are GREAT bikes! Buy both!

Yup, the 14 is smooth...

The 12R, especially the 2000/2001 are raw, will bite you when you least expect it.. but thats part of the draw.

Even Kawi knew.. why do you think the 14 never got that "R"?

IMO .. the ZX and busa look bad when lowered a bit.....
Although...my 01 busa was raised about 1 inch, and geared down (16/43)...I loved my old busa..Even after 50k miles she ran like NEW!!
