Investigation Question. What do you do?

This kid hit my car in Memorial City Parking lot and took off while following me to PANERA BREAD I didnt catch his number plate but i have his number (281) 853-5640. Cop came over and wont give me a case number because there is no proof? WTF?!? i have scratches on my rear bumper !!!! After i insisted, she went looked at the cameras and didnt find my car at all. i was parked for 30 minutes and they didnt see my car? i have a friend in hpd, will contact him in the morning but seriously what do you do in this situation?

I found ROSEN WARD associated with (281) 853-5640 from some online service. What are my options here? the way i see it, My damage is only 250 on an old camry bumper + Paint. and may not worth insurance claim. but the flip side of it, if this terd gets away this time he will do it worse to someone else later. ANY INPUT would be much appreciated.

I would get the cops name and badge # and file a complaint that's what I'd do.

^^ That's more waste of Time. I was involved in a hit and run down at pp1 and got guys number plate a few years back and went in the next day to file a report over at richmond and dairy ashford hpd office i think. Cop pretty much told me to not waste time and get it repaired myself. there is nothing they can do. HE REFUSED TO FILE A CASE. i called dispatch and a whole nine yards, well officer came to my house and got things done. it was a 6 months process until they brought the guy to court and had his insurance pay for my damages... i guess thats just out HPD

If you can find out his name and address, you can take him to small claims court

So I'm assuming that calling and being a reasonable adult is out the window on his end? There are a shot ton of resources to find out all the information you'd ever need about a person.

I was involved in a hit and run with a drunk driver a couple of months ago. There is a whole division devoted to hit and runs. They took the plates I had and got him to come in and it all worked out. Point being, scratches on your car, the fact that you have info on him and called police are enough. File a complaint with the police dept and also talk to a supervisor.

You're being irresponsible for posting his name, address and phone number. Now his info is searchable. He was clearly in the wrong for the hit and run, but 2 wrongs don't make a right. Be a man and handle it yourself. Delete his info from your posts.

He may deserve a ticket. But I doubt he deserves the potential calls he could receive from the droves of stupid people that will read this message and choose to take their own frustrations out on this guy.

If I was him I would post your info online as well once the hit and run is settled.

Never mind the fact that you may be posting the address of the wrong person. Very stupid...

actually, I had quite a good buying experience using Craigslist just two weeks ago.

Nice honest person and I bought a great lightly used bicycle from him.

But why are you posting his info here? What does that buy you? This is a forum, not a police station. And again, what if the info you posted is not correct and you're posting some random innocent person's info on MH? Do you really think that's okay?
