I have taken the jacket off but still had full gloves, boots, knee protection, and helmet. better to sweat than bleed. it's harder to stay fully geared up if say you're going out on a date though.

It's been tempting, but I try to just avoid riding in the heat of the day...

Once I leave my neighborhood my office is a mile up the road and I don't wear anything but sunglasses and gloves. When it's cooler I wear my gear even on the 5 minute ride to work.

See.....I work 20-25 from home. And I have to get on I-10. Not a good combo. Seen plenty of 4-wheel idiots on I-10 not paying attention. Otherwise, I'd probably attempt it.

I used to ride without gear all the time. After totaling a bike right around the corner from my house (my wife and kids heard the crash) I wear my gear all the time.

But...my wife's friend just bought a Harley and she is always about him not wearing gear because he thinks its too hot. I personally understand "squiding it" too, no point in riding if you are terrified of it and a grown man should be able to make his own choices.

On a date??? Man, that is going to be a sure way to determine whether she is a keeper or not....if she puts up with the "bike funk"....my woman won't even say hello to me when I come back from riding until I shower....
