Yes, show up early if you want to ride. I got there around 7ish and there were a few folks already there. Might even show up a littler earlier b/c I know a lot of people got turned away and they were telling them tomorrow early. I think there were only 2 or 3 zx10rs so not many will get to ride those. Have about 5 or 6 of the Ninja 1000 which I rode. Really enjoyed it. Very nice bike. Better handling, better low end grunt than my fz1 and just a fun bike to ride IMO. Not a whole lot up top like the FZ1, it's all low where it needs to be for street riding. I drifted back once and opened it up a bit around a gentle curve but the demo police got onto me at the next light. Also, they only let you sign up for 1 bike to start then after you ride you can sign up again if there are spots left. About a 20 minute ride around various roads, not too bad for a demo ride but of course hard to do very much to test out the bike good in that type of environment.

I took my son, Jay Newton, yesterday morning. Of course they would not let him ride because he is only 13, but we did get the Demo Dollars, and are picking up his new Ninja 250 next week. The folks there that we spoke with about his racing showed genuine interest and were very helpful!!! Cool event!!

Had a good time this morning, the ZX10R def. has some , but I didnt really get to get into it. I thought it was pretty torquey down low, but all 1ks feel that way when you used to riding a 750. And Ive never been on a busa or a 14 so I wouldnt know on that end. It didnt really feel like any of the 1000's ive been on either. Felt really light almost like I wasnt on a 1k until I cracked the throttle (front tire got pretty light a few times just putting around). As far as comfort, im not a big guy and I thought it was comfortable. Overall I F***ing want one......

There was an issue with 1 of them after the first ride. Someone picked up a nail in the tire on the black one and they had to take it. So they asked me and the other person who were supposed to ride who wanted to go first and who wanted to take a 1 on 1 ride during lunch. I had my fiance with me and we had plans later that morning so I opted for the earlier ride. If your on here, Thanks for letting me have that spot and I hope that 1 on 1 ride was cool. I probably wouldnt have been able to make it back after lunch so Thanks again!!

Showed up about 8 or shortly after and rode the Ninja 1000 in the 10:30 group, and loved it.
The route was good, even though there really weren't any corners to hit with any speed. I had a couple times to rip on it from a low speed, hitting 80 a couple times, and about 100mph.... so much better than a parking lot ride.

The only other bike I have experience on is my 650r.
Ninja 1000 felt equally as light (50lbs heavier)
Had power EVERYWHERE. The 650 sputters on the low end, the 1000 had no sputter at hard throttle at 2500rpm.
Gears were much longer (1st on the 650 is really short).
Shifted smooth with a subtle click, my 650 shifts like a 4wheeler in comparison.
Seat height a little higher than I'd like (5'7)
Suspension was a little stiff, but I weigh 130lb and I'm sure the bike wasn't setup for that.

We decided we didn't want to wait around to ride another bike as it was starting to get hot, and I got to ride the one I really wanted anyways.

It was a nice event. I only live 10 minutes away, so I went over at about 10:00. All ZX-10R spots were taken, so I chose the Z1000 - which I wanted to ride anyway. It was in the afternoon, so I asked if I could do another and she said sure. I picked the KLR 650 to ride at 11:15. Both bikes were a lot of fun. The KLR was a whole lot of fun and very comfy. To me, it was more comfy than the Z1000. I went home, ate lunch and came back to meet a friend for the afternoon ride. The Z1000 had lots of torque down low and both rides I went on were pretty quick paced. At one point the demo police pulled up next to me and told me to go ahead and pass the two guys in front of me if I could cleanly do it. I was on the KLR and there were two guys on Z1000's in front of me that were holding me up. They were going slow and looked really nervous. There was a large gap between us and the lead group. Of course I passed right away in the next corner and got to open up the KLR to see what she had. What a blast!! The front end felt really light at about 80mph and was really easy to just flick it into the corners and turns. I had a lot of fun on the bike. I wish I could have rode a ZX10R because that's what I really want, but I still had a great time. It would be nice to see this kind of event more often with all the manufacturers. The staff was all really nice also.

Rode the ZX-6 this morning. Loved it! Not as much down low as my 636 had but above 6k it was lots of fun. Definitely worth it, and worth the 500 kawi dollars.

Yea, that was my ZX-10! Started off I was 1st in line and at 249 and BW8 a wreck happened right in front of us because the lights were out! (truck t-boned a car) And if that wasnt bad enough I picked up a nail somewhere on the route!

The ZX10R was nice power wise, but the ergos left a bit to be desired. Pegs were too high and the seat was too long for me. Other than that, it was a fun ride. Seemed to lack a bit on the low end, but definitely had it goin' above 5k rpm. 1st to 2nd at speed, it just took off. Fun, fun, fun but I'm not likely to get one, my ZZR does good enough for me at this stage.

Not at all! I was trying to fall back from the demo rider at times so i could get into the throttle a little but he was going the speed limit most of the time, still was fun.

Agreed, the staff was cool as . The Demo guy gave me the same option shortly after we took off because I was behind two skiddish riders also. He didn't have to tell me twice! Had alot of fun out, great event!

glad you all had fun!!!! it wasn't a bad event, I've been on better demo rides though. the route was a bit too much stop and go. Also I"m not used to riding sport bikes (well, inline 4s anyway) but definitely wanted to try out the Z1000 so I guess I was one of those "skiddish" riders, had a hard time keeping up with the leaders at times. not sure how I felt going those speeds on those roads (unknown to me) on an unknown bike. coming from my v twins (a buell xb9s and suzuki cruiser) I definitely need to learn how to throttle on an I4 better. was happy that at 5'1" I could handle a Z1000 without any trouble, well behaved and nice/smooth ride. I only rode the z1000 cause when I signed up for it, it was only available at 4:30pm on Saturday and I signed up at like 10:30ish Saturday. really glad demo rides exist, great way to get a variety of experiences on a bunch of different rides.
