My problem is the roads will be overrun by the potato guys end of the week which completely ruins the fun.

there are way to many roads to ride for that to ever happen...

I've got a good list of roads we want to hit up, but can always use more..

Last years rally it said they had something like 300,000 people... it doesn't take but a few packs rolling 15 below the speed limit and backing up traffic to ruin and delay a ride...

Jim, if I hadn't gone to Barber Motorsports Park for the 2 day Ride Smart track day and taken some other days off I would be in.

Definitely take AR23 (the pig trail) up to Eureka Springs. Amazing twisties. The ride from Hot Springs up north to Jasper is also very nice.

Wish I could go. Trailer is definitely the way to go. Not a lot to see between Houston and Arkansas. Next time I go, I will trailer the bike up there.

Be sure to get some GoPro footage and pics! I went in mid October in 09 and the leaves were turning and it was gorgeous.

GoPro will be along, may put the rear mount on again at the same time...

I get accused of not taking enough pics so don't expect much.. pics require you to stop, and whats the point of THAT??? LOL!!!

Early planning for a few days loops...

I have a long list of roads we wanted to hit over the past few trips that went bust, but some are farther south, so we'll most likely take at least one overnighter...

Confirmed. The old man doesn't like to stop for pics! I think my last two trips with him have pics from before and after the ride. I'm probably going to have to learn to use a camera with my left hand so I can take pics while riding.

looks like you have some good routes planned. Here are a couple of suggestions.

In Missouri, take 125 north off of 160 at Reuter to Bradleyville - EXCELLENT.

In Missouri, take 85 north off ot 160 at Lutie through Longrun to Wasola - EXCELLENT.

In Arkansas, take 7/14 south out of Lead Hill to SH 268 to 125 then north to Peel and north via ferry ride on 125 to 160 west - EXCELLENT.

in Arkansas, take 123/74 north out of Mt Judie to 74 west to Jasper - eat at the Ozark Cafe - EXCELLENT.

Take 74 west out of Jasper to Ponce then 43 north to Harrison - 74 is EXCELLENT.

In Missouri, from Forsyth take 76 south to 65 then west on 86 all the way to just south of Cassville where you meet 76 again. Option 1 from there is back east on 76. Option 2 (better) is up to Cassville then south on 37 to Washburn where you go west on 90 thru Jane all the way to Noel and then back. Missouri 90 is one of the absolute BEST roads in that area.

If you stay in Eureka Springs one night (Swiss Village Inn) you can take 23 north to 86 and do the option 2 ride above on Missouri 90 to Noel. That is one great ride.

ALL of Ark 16 from 23 south of Eureka Springs east all the way to Clinton is EXCELLENT.

When you are coming back from Noel, at point "E" on the map, instead of going north to Longiview (flatter) come south on State HW E through Powell back to 90 and you can stop to see the historic bridge at Powell. Another reason is that east of Longview is relatively flat and not nearly as good riding as HW E, which is very good and HW 90 is freakin' fantastic in BOTH directions. When you come back on 90, go back east on the route you came out on but before Eagle Rock go north on 86 to 76 east of Cassville and then continue on your original return route 76 back east. That section of 86 from Eagle Rock to 76 is just fantastic and like a roller coaster ride.

After you ride these routes you are going to be smiling so much they are going to have to surgically remove the smile from your face.

I loves me some twisties.. tighter the better... when I see "S" and "20 MPH" on a yellow sign.. it's ON!

Toss in some elevation changes and a couple river crossings... yup yup

the 20 mph ones are good but you gotta watch out for those marked 10 and 15 mph because the first turn you may come to is OK at a faster rate but the second and third turns in the series may be decreasing radius that will eat your lunch.

When you are riding HW 74 in Arkansas by Jasper be sure to watch out for the ELK herd they have introduced there.

If you need more routes to fill in time, let me know because I have ridden and driven LOTS up in that area.

Oh yeah... I ride the old "slow in fast out" style.. and late apex so I always have an angle on it...

Now Elk is some good eating... So far as watching out I usually don't see much more scenery than the asphalt in the next turn.. it's all about the road not the view!

Back from the hills in AR and MO. Didn't manage to hit all the roads we wanted..

But so far as personal favorites

MO125 S from Bradleyville to Rueter .. most excellent!
AR341 N from 14 to 201, Push Mountain.. most excellent!
AR123 N from 164 to 65 mostly great
AR21 around Ozone in the National Forest has some fun canyon stretches

Main difference I can mention between Ar and NC/TN Deals Gap area... too much traffic, too many side roads, iffy road surfaces.

Nice scenery, lots of curvy roads and such, and we'll need another trip to check out more roads.

Yeah, pretty, but total sucks for road surface.
