I ride with two different people on this site. They can vouch for how I treated the bike. I'm not screaming at mancuso, I'm screaming at yamaha. And yes yamaha denied it, then put me on hold while they called mancuso. Now the yamaha rep is not calling me back.

At my shop I would take care of it, I would feel bad about the over all deal. The clutch is cheap and labor also but in the long run was it really my responsibility?

You have no idea why the clutch went bad....now if the customer sat there burning out the clutch you would be able to tell right away with glazed and burned clutch plates if they are not glazed or burnt and it only has 500 miles on it, then there is an issue somewhere that needs to be handled plain and simple no argument needed...

Start sending emails so it's documented.

Then you should help a brother out and go with him to Mancuso. I'm sure they'll see it your way.

Either Mancuso is not telling him something or he is not telling us something. It feels like the latter is true.
They should have explained/showed in detail what they found, what Yamaha said, why his claim was denied and what his options are now. There should be some looking into the statement about R1 clutches not being correctly engineered and whether or not there may be a recall about it.
It might be too early for a recall but if there is an issue with the R1 clutches Yamaha would be negligent in denying warranty claims off hand when they know there could be a problem.
my point exactly

Title is just because every time I've dealt with them it went bad. Any question you have about the situation I will answer. I know how I've treated the bike, and I know what they have told me. The bike had been there since wednesday, and they had a diagnosis thursday morning. Abd that was that the clutchwent out. They said there was no sign if manufacturer defect and I would have to pay fir it. I said no and immediately called yamaha. They have yet to give me detailed breakdown of it. But they say now that the bottom half of motor had to be pulled to clear debree.

This thread is now lost...

I know one thing, I would be if I forked oevr that much money and bought a NEW bike and this happened. I would probably never buy another Yamaha or shop at Mancuso. The outcome of this should be interesting.

You should have went back there and taken pictures of the plates, basket and inside of the case. They also should have got your permission to split the case on a BRAND new bike, because if its not covered your looking at several thousands of dollars worth of work YOU will have to eat on a NEW bike. Debris sounds a little fishy. it all sounds a little fishy.

ya know that might be an interesting approach. call yamaha back and let them know how you are and that you'll never buy another yamaha product and that you'll do your best to let the world know what has happened with their POS product.
