If I understand your question, I would be inclined to spend money at a dealership that offered good customer service. That's repeat business to me.

A dealership that atleast trys to resolve warranty work with a manufacture would probaly get repeat buyers. I dont think at this point he would ever buy a bike from them again? I know I wouldnt....

Good customer service would be fixing the clutch and then taking it up with yamaha...there's an obvious defect here as long as this guy isnt blowing smoke up everyones

It sucks that this happened on a brand new bike but again we are only hearing from one side of the story, i have dealt with Mancuso before and they have always taken care of me properly.

The way i see it is that Mancuso tried to help but Yamaha didnt feel like it was a manufacturer's problem so now Mancuso is stuck in the middle. Mancuso did sent out a toll truck to get your bike into the shop and then assigned a mechanic to open the clutch and then probably reported to Yamaha to get the green light for a clutch replacement. At this point Yamaha is not taking responsibility for the failure so now Mancuso is at a loss for the toll truck and labor. It is a business after all, so i am sure they can take a little loss on the toll truck and labor but i dont think they will go ahead with the repairs without Yamaha's approval unless they want to keep loosing money. What is the cause of the clutch failure according to the mechanic? if you can, take a detailed picture of the clutch basket/discs and post it here, i am sure some of the experts can figure out what happened.

Mancuso should definetly be on the side of the customer, after all it's the customers who keeps the shop in business.

Sure they should, but should that offer free parts and labor? Plenty of youtube videos out there where people abuse bikes.

I don't have a dog in this hunt but there are two sides here.

And you know they contacted Yamaha how? The OP even stated he called Yamaha. The person at Yamaha tried calling Mancuso but could not get through to anyone because they put her on hold for 45 minutes. Honestly seems like all they care about is closing a sale on a bike after that off

Ok so if clutch burns out do you have to pull bottom half of engine for debree? They are requiring me to pay service charges on the repair.

The bike will barely come out if 1st once in neutral it will not go in to 2nd at alll. And the gear indicator goes blank. In first with clutch lever in, it still rolls.

And this us the second time a mancuso dealership had done some bs. I took my ninja in for a service, and ended up taking it home in a truck because it would run anymore. That was AJ Foyt that time.
