Finally jumped the gun and bit the bullet...Proud owner of a 08 CBR600RR Pearl White

Well here is the story;

Been looking for another bike since my R6 about a year ago and I FINALLY just decided since I am staying here for sure and going to UH Main Campus, that I will buy a bike. Been looking and nothing got my juices going (because I love projects).

Today was my lucky day, found a guy with a 2008 CBR600RR that was laid over on the right side and torn to bits. He needed some cash and well...I walked away with a banged up bike that rides awesome (but needs some mech work and love).

When I brought her home. (Plastics were mostly torn off by then)

This is after some cleaning and removing more plastics and seeing what needs immediate repair to get back on the road.

Looking forward to having some progress here within the next two weeks of getting her back on the road in clothed =P

Also, if anyone has any tips on where to find some CBR parts please let me know because I have a few odd parts I want to swap out.

Will keep a progression thread going as well.

Oh btw, only paid within triple digits for it with a blue clean title.

I thought the newer model CBRs weren't very popular with the stunt crowd?

Take a look at 600rr.net. They have a decent classified section.

No cracks at all. Checked her over pretty well just some rash and last night I actually sat down and wet sanded that side of the frame and coated. Now looks like new.

Yep, spent just at nine Benjamins on her with 6,000 miles. Waiting for a few parts through a eBay seller to come (~500) then just need fairings and headlights and I am street legal. She rides amazing though and pulls like a liter bike which is crazy.

Also, anyone have a direct to point me in for help with the speedometer/tach blowing my fuse once trying to ride. It blows after I get it in first and start rolling. Any idea possible on here? Makes zero sense at all. Works fine while sitting and warming up.

man, that's a steal.
If you decide to go with street plastics, you should try and find some oem white/silver from an 07. That's a sexy color scheme.

To get it back to street riding. Honestly the plastics where all the was damaged and trashed. I mean it need some TLC on some parts and paint on the covers but that's already been done. This will be just another toy in my garage =P one of many.
