Boo Boo nee Bumbie

I'm glad to see you've named your bike too. I've been teased for calling mine Mogee. Of course, a month or so off the lot is a tad premature. . .judging from all the duct tape, Boo Boo did some serious name earning.:icon_bigg

So it all began...

It's not perfect but I've noticed something. The bodywork is on life support. Yesterday it cracked when i was moving it. I took on this project to help out Nutmeg and get some experience with body work and painting. I had to completely replace sections of these fairings because the layers were seperated around the cracks. Some areas were shattered with cracks leading every which way. I came to a point where I realize that no matter what this set only has so much life left in it. I'm going to add a few layers of fiberglass to all the mounting points to help extend the life a bit. Yes, there are a few flaws, at this point I am going to have to accept it.

Here is my paint booth. I designed it so I could fold it up against the wall. When folded it sticks out about 4 inches. I bought air filters for the ventialtion, the fumes still get out but as far as I can tell no paint particles make it through the filter.

So it all began...

in pump fuel filter

at Nutmeg's last track day she was having a problem with the bike loosing power. Well, her air filter was rediculously dirty. I also decided to check the fuel filter in the pump. On my old track bike I had a problem like this and there was a lot more dirt than I found in Nutmeg's.

You can see the dirt I got out and the pump apart.

So it all began...

honestly, compared to my 750 this is nothing. I had a solid tablespoon of dirt in mine and it wasn't the problem. the pump was still flowing enough fuel.

not bad for a home job
probably not gonna last through the next crash test with all those repairs, but good job & nice paint booth, its cool to see what some people will improvise to get the job done.
