Quite honestly I didn't pay attention to the bike when I posted the pic. I was expecting a squid bashing not a kat haters hate fest.

If it makes you feel better, you probably have the nicest Katana out there.

Well thanks. More needs to be done to fit what I want. But I never bought it for approval( lol who the buys one to fit in hahahahahaha ) I bought it because of how I fit on it. And what I could do to it. Along with how comfortable it was for ME to ride.

I am hoping for a Colorado trip next year

'Cuz its a helluva good bike. Most of the bashers have never owned one, and respond out of peer pressure. Quite a few folks have switched from a Kat to another, faster bike. They bought a Kat as a 1st bike because they wanted a sportbike, and something cheap. If their next ride is something like a ZX-10 or something, no kidding the ol' Katana seems like a 2-wheel tugboat.

Catch is, it really is a sport-touring, not a sportbike (which nowadays means an SS). Problem occurs b/c it doesn't cosmetically fit neatly into the category along with other sport-touring. Find a modern sport-touring and you'll usually see less plastic, a taller windscreen and frequenly built-in saddlebags. People judge based on what they see.

The biggest attraction is the pricetag. It's blissfully free of all the high-tech thrown on modern bikes that jacks the price up. This also makes it easier to work on IMHO. You've got a built-in centerstand, and a fuel gauge. You've got a windscreen that's somewhat useful. The weight makes it smoother. The full-sized seat is much more comfortable, and there's actually a scant bit of useful space underneath it. The headlights are brighter than what you'd normally find stock on most sportbikes. The front turn signals are easier to see.

...And, like it or not, it's better looking. OK except for the headlights, they look like Homer Simpson's Ray-Bans. But still, it has an aggressive elegance, compared to everything else which appears to have the ability to transform into a robot espresso machine.
