Just can't do too much on weeknights. And since I only get every other weekend off, leisure time is pretty scarce. :(

If it weren't for commuting, I'd never have time to ride.

I put most of my tools in the bed trunk, so my back seat will be free for gear.

I would really like to go, but that's a CMRA weekend (Sat) and a GSS Fastline weekend (Sun). Any other weekend I'd be there for sure.

In the meantime, who has a Katy membership we can piggyback on and go out for an afternoon on tards?

I didn't know you could run bikes on that track. I called them once about it and they sounded a little put off.

If I have a 250 in my garage and set up in time for this I can carry a third... We would be able to fit less gear in the back seat but cheaper when gas is split three ways...

Technically, with the membership rules, you can't run big sumos. Their insurance limits CC's at competition events. Not sure what their insurance says on non-competition practices. I saw a member's 4 door pickup turning hot laps for fun once.

If someone can do $20 a rider in Lafayette, then why can't we find a way to do it in H Town?

I sent the board at GCKI (Katy carters who own the track) asking if we could do a pay-per-rider practice, if I organized it and booked the whole track. Weekday event, 4-8PM, every other month. I'll let ya'll know what they say, but I'm guessing it will be a no.

In case you were wondering, Katy is massive fun on a full size motard, or so I've been told.

A buddy called them to get information and they pretty much said that if its not in TMGP rules then they are not welcome.

My membership expired at Katy, but I plan to renew it next week.

It's like $325.00 for new memberships (one year)
Then it drops to $300/yr if you don't let it expire.
Unlimited trackdays.... no other fees (they do ask for volunteers to do various things now or then)... you have the combination to the gate.

It can only be minis (TMGP rules).
But most of the time, on weeknights we would be the only ones there.
People on full sized have put some deap gouges in the track (or so I've been told....lol) so they frown upon the full size tards

I have a GSS day that weekend, so I won't be able to make it

We are meeting tomorrow to discuss the logistics of the trip at 8pm at the Starbucks on Kirby and Robinhood in the Rice Village. If anyone wants to hitch a ride to the track or get a passenger to split gas with you should come by and we can figure it out. If not, we'll be in Louisiana by 5ish on Saturday evening and we hope to see you there. If you can't make it and need a ride, let one of us know what side of town you are on so we can plan accordingly.

Just a friendly reminder we are still going this Saturday. For those of you worried about the Houston heat this weekend, the high temp in Lafayette is only 92 on Saturday and we're riding mostly at night so it will be in the 80's.
