Supermoto trip to kart track in Louisana 8/27

Had a post in the supermoto section but figured I would would move it now that plans are firmed up. As long as there isn't a hurricane we will be leaving Saturday 8/27 mid morning or lunch time to go to the Razor's Edge Raceway in sunny Lafayette, LA. It's about halfway to New Orleans and is located right off of I-10.

It's a small kart track with a dirt section so motards, minis, and dirtbikes are welcome. Dirt is hard packed with berms on each corner but no jumps. $20 to ride per day. Helmet and gloves required. I would suggest a little more gear but to each his own. Track is lit and it's open until we're done. Apparently 10 people is a really good turn out so I don't think it will be crowded. Well it may be after we get there.

Plan on arriving around 3-4pm. Chill out for a bit and get riding about 6pm once it starts cooling off. Track is lit and we can ride it all night long. They have a grill there so you can just cook dinner next to the track. You can camp at the track but it's August so I would like to stay in a hotel Saturday night. Once we figure out how many people are going we can probably get a group discount somewhere although I don't anticipate a hotel room in Lafayette to be very expensive.

Are you in or out?

Like I told you on the phone, I can fit one more in my truck. Not towing a trailer.. I'm sure I can, but I'm just not going to. Truck barely chugs along with me in it, I don't want to be WOT the whole way there and back.

Hopefully you can make it. I figured it would be nice to take advantage of being able to ride at night when it's cooler hence the late departure.

And if that enough I can use my dads 6x16 farm trailer. I'm sure we could fit everyone's tard on there..... Dunno what we are gonna use to tow it though. His F350 has over 500k and Im not sure I wanna be stuck on the side of the road in east Texas/lousiana with a bunch of bikes in the back

I just requested those days off and should get them. I was looking on google and there really isn't any hotels real close to the track. When i mean close I'm talking like on the same street but lafayatte isn't huge so no worries. Gonna have to find a nice and secure spot with 24hr security

I thought you were going to buy a membership so we could all get in? Just kidding. I talked to him and they don't care. He just asked that I call him a day ahead of time so he can make sure he's there to unlock it for us. He wants to ride the night we're there as well.

I don't know why they can't have them, they are cheaper than DRZs. I have a work dinner thing tonight so I can't meet up.

Let me rephrase that, they are cheaper for the first 2,000 miles.

I've got an F250, so towing anybody's trailer is a non-issue. Crew cab so I can carry some bodies too. Not the most comfortable ride in the world, but it hauls.

No bed top though so any gear in the back is going to cook in the sun. Just something to think about.

My schedule looks free that weekend. Let me clear this with She Who Must Be Obeyed...
