Oh I know how to clean it just fine. I've had it for a while and use it all the time when I go mountainbiking. I just haven't been to the trails in a while, so it's more than likely funky. I'll probably get the tablets I can just drop in there. It'll costs me $5, but it's quick and easy and I KNOW it'll be disinfected.

Im not going to carry a camel back because Ill be wearing a back protector...any other suggestions for carrying hydration? I was thinking of keeping 1 32oz Gatorade in the tail bag...

Speaking of which, this is the 1st time I will be using a tail bag. This Cargo Endurance Sport Tank Bag can be used as a tank, tail or backpack. I ghetto rigged it today to see if it would work out using the pullstrap on the banana seat for the front connection and 2 bungee cords connecting to a hole in the trellis near the passenger pegs for the rear connection. I applied 3 layers of tape (2 painters and 1 duct) to protect the rear fairing from scratches against the bungee cord hooks. The front strap is super tight which may break the plastic hooks, which is a little concerning...if needed, I can zipper-off the magnetic tank bag portion to loosen it up a bit but I wanna keep the magnetic tank bag portion just in case I need to use it as a tank bag. Getting on and off the bike will be a bit different/challenging with no gear on, yet alone race boots/knee guards, but it doesn't compromose my seat space. Weight will be light with the heaviest thing probably being some gatorade or sneakers.

Anyone have any advice/suggestions - does this look ok?

Ormand, I wear my Hydrapak over leathers with a large speed hump and a Dianese back protector under that.

Do you really need the bungees? Your body will block all the wind so those straps under the seat should be good enough, no?

Bungees are coming with me regardless, may as well put them to use They do stabalize the bag from swaying from side to side in the back.

I don't own a camelback but was researching them yesterday. They don't look very comfortable and seem cumbersome. I was thinking of buying a hydrapack resevoir only and put it in my tail bag but even that seems weird.

They feel fine to me. You can get those little baby 50oz ones and almost forget it's back there. My 100oz isn't even too bad.

I know the cyclegear on 59 carries them (Hydrapak) if you want to try one. The strap that goes around the waist is removable on mine, so it just hangs on your shoulders like a book bag. I don't even notice it.

I've stayed at that same hotel before last year...good choice. The AC never got freezing cold in the room as I would like it,or the bedding seemed to insulate heat. Ill either be at that hotel or the Hilton Garden Inn nearby...$89 prepurchased. Ill decide tonight.

So what time can we expect to arrive in Austin? Ormand I pick that hotel base on guest reviews. Not that I dont wanna save money but paying extra is worth it for someone that difficult to sleep like me.

Ormand, I wear a 100oz Camelback Mule & a back protector too....not uncomfy.

As far as hotels, I guess we will be spread out throughout the City of Austin? Can we get a consensus and all stay at the same loc?

It's easier to clean a Hydrapak than a Camelbac. Check the video I posted in this thread

For me it would depend on what time we check in. I never drink and ride and the only extra clothes I'm packing is a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops
