Sweet 03' R6

I wish I had some pics and I'm going to try and get some for future post. I was in Powersports of Houston today and saw a very nice R6 in the shop. It had all kinds of up grades and it only had some minor scratches on the tail, but it was basically race ready. I was wondering if anyone knew why it was being sold or what the real story was on it.

this bike had after market forks, after market rear suspension, steering damper, GP shift, Power commander, full Graves race exhaust. The list goes on and on.

If I remember corectly, they are not aftermarket units, they have the Race Tech or Traxxion treatment (can't remember which one).

Well, I guess I should just post it here in case anyone else is interested.

Here's the story of that bike and a few other bikes that they sell from time to time.

The shop owner used to live and own a cycle shop in Virginia several years ago. He moved back home to Houston and opened up Powersports about 3 or 4 years ago. While in Virginia, his shop built a reputaion for having a great used bike inventory (much like Powersports & Patrick's shop has now). His old shop back in Virginia frequently gets offered way more bikes to purchase than they have room for or need. So, they call him and ask him if he's iinterested in any of them. If so, they buy them and hold them till he makes a visit back to Virginia (usually 3 or 4 times a year) to pick them up. Most recently he went to Virginia to watch the AMA races at VIR and stopped back by his old shop and picked up 2 or 3 bikes that he had waiting there. The bikes are frequently tricked out and in fantastic shape. I went with him 2 years ago to VIR (for the AMA races and stayed for a trackday buttrock)and we brought back 9 bikes.

This specific R6 you are talking about was is MINT except for the slight tail marks. He stopped on the way back from Virginia and rode Deals Gap for a day and while he was eating lunch, he got careless and put the bike's kickstand down in a freshly paved asphalt parking lot (on a hot day). And you know what happened. The bike made a slow tip onto some grass & gravel. Other than that, the bike is mint.

Is that what you wanted to know?

man that is perfect. I have a few people interested in the bike and they were wondering about some pics. Do you think they would let me take some pictures to help sell it?

Good question, give them a call at 713-896-7676 and ask. I would guess they wouldn't mind, but call them to make sure...
