250k miles on an '00 Suzuki GSXR-750

so you think a sportbike is "worn out" at 20k miles bunky?

read this thread - bike just passed 250k miles yesterday.

several years ago there was a guy that hit 100k on his rc51. only thing that he had replaced at that point was something on the exhaust.

Thats nuts!

With proper maintenance, theres no reason these things can't get the same sort of mileage as a car.

Plus you don't have to worry about broken window motors, broken door lock actuators, windshield wipers, etc.

Mine is almost there, but I don't think it'll see 250K. She's getting a bit uncomfortable.

Same goes for an '04 CBR600 F4i at 217,000+ miles and still going. Jared documented his mileage each 100k and parts in between. http://www.youtube.com/user/thirdgenlxi

He also has an '89 Accord with 412,000+ miles. Great guy. Puts mileage on his vehicles like it's nothing.

Good to see. I ride 100% of the time year round. I just don't have the commute that he's got anymore.

As long as you change the oil... engines will last a long time. I don't think that fella will make 300,000 without a rebuild though. He said his cam chain is getting stretched a good amount. I'm definitely rooting for him!!

I'd definitely entertain the idea of buying the bike from him. I'm not afraid of high mileage machines. I almost bought a Blackbird with around 88k. I hate to see vehicles occasionally driven or ridden. They are 100% fixable.

Riding in the winters up there is hardcore. 20 degrees is my cutoff on long rides. Any less is pushing it for me.

My f4i has 30 and I am confident I will get a few hundred grand out of her.

My old 95 Blazer had 550,000 by the time I sold it.

I hope not. Mine turns 2 at the end of January and I just hit 20,000 miles.

03 GSXR 600 with about 47, miles and her fair share of trackdays, still running like a champ. Dbuck and I met a guy on a Busa with 119, Memorial Day weekend down in Freeport. Said the first/previous owner rode Iron rides and put the first 89, on the bike. That's what's up!

There is an F250 in the family with over 600K, and it still runs well.
