Anyone up for a trip to Lafayette, LA kart track 7/30

I'm gauging interest for a trip to Lafayette, LA on the 30th of this month. Leave Saturday and come back Sunday. It's only about 3.5 hours from here and there is a small kart track that we can run sumos on. There is also a dirt section that is connected but I don't know if they are cool with bringing dirt onto the course so you may have to run one or the other. No jumps but the turns have berms and it's all hard packed. $20 for the day and we can run it until 3am with the lights on. A couple weeks ago they installed more lighting and connected the two straights with one sweeping turn so there is more than one way to run the track now. Guy that runs it is a fellow sumo rider and it's a public park so they are pretty lenient on shenanigans. if you pay $300 they give you a key to the place. Here are a couple videos of the track. It's nothing spectacular but it looks like a lot of fun for $20. I'd like to ride Saturday night so we don't die from heat stroke. Maybe Sunday too? We'll see how many people are interested in the next few days and then firm up some plans early next week hopefully.

They may have tied the two together but I saw some recent videos and no one was running both so I don't know. There is an entrance to it from the tarmac so maybe. If not enough people can go on the 30th I was thinking of going the third weekend in August. Would that weekend work for you?

Like Deano said TMGP the 30th (I gotta find a ride), but I might be able to swing the August.

Like Deano said, I will be in Denton or else I would go. I am free most weekends.

Jason, I sent you a PM about Denton.

I'm looking at buying a 2t 250 to convert to motard, that might be ready by august, but I may be down for a trip at the end of the month also. The bmw is a bit heavy for that small of a track but I'll still go. I would only want to run the paved section.

So it looks like August is better for everyone. I will be in Jamaica at the beginning of the month so I would like to go the third weekend of August so my brain has time to heal. Byrd can't go this month either.

Interested in making the run as well. Or at least making the ride with someone and splitting the gas.

so any of you actually want to go at the end of this month? How many can carry bikes? I can fit two in the bed, but it's a ridgeline so I don't know that I can pull a trailer with two bikes in back

If I understand correctly there are three guys that want to go... I could try a trailer if one of you has one. We would get gas mileage, but splitting the gas between three people would make up for it. Have hookups for a trailer and everything, just don't have the actual trailer.

+Terrell so that makes four. My trailer light outlet thingie isn't working so if Mr. F could tow it then I think it will work. Might have to take an extra car though because that is a lot of gear, bikes, and bodies for one ride. I'd be down to go this month and next month.

I might be able to make the 31st after the tmgp race. The endurance is Saturday but after 2 hours of racing I am sure I will be sore.

A dozen or so people can make it next month and only 3 of us can make it this month so it looks like we will do this next month. Mark your calendars for August 27. We can switch between the 27th and the 20th so if one or the other doesn't work for some let me know.
