i wanna go but the speedo magnet rotor thing located on the front axle desintigrated. Waiting for the part to be delivered. Anybody know if a sv650 can be safely operated w/out the magnet? Who needs a speedometer anyways, right?

Actually, it can. My friend's came apart too.

Hers was a first gen SVS, but it started coming apart somewhere near the AZ/NM state line. Within two days, there was no speedo at all. Made it all the way back fine within a group since she couldn't monitor her own speed.

I'll probably be there rain or shine and I have the route... although a cats-n-dogs downpour is never fun.

The NOAA has the rain chance decreasing to 10% after 7am on Sunday, so maybe the roads will be wet bu it will blow through before we start.
