I want to buy a bike that has a lein on it HELP*

Im interested in this bike on craigslist that has a lein on it.

The loan is through 'GE money' and they do NOT have a houston branch..

So I would have to give this individual the money to pay off the loan.

Is it possible for me to send the lein company a cashiers check or something?? SO that I can insure that the lein is being paid??

can someone give me a an idea of how to handle this???
I really want the bike...

With so many bikes for sale why even bother?
Just go find another one that has a clear title or at least no liens. Problem solved... next.

I WENT THROUGH THIS when i bought my Daytona. Get on the phone with them, WITH the seller. make sure you ask about how much is owed. Write the seller two checks. One to pay off the bike to the bank, and the remainder to him. Overnight the cashiers check for the bank.

Call GE Money, have the seller tell them that upon paying the bike off, the title needs to be noterized and mailed to your mailing address. All they need is an signed letter that puts that transfer in writing, which can be faxed.

The title will arrive at your door in 2 weeks.

BS. You pay your bank. They (your bank) will wire the money to GE and GE will send the title to you. Your bank will ensure the paperwork is in order and the title is taken care of. You have to be sure its the payoff amount for THAT day. No reason for 2 checks and certainly no reason to hand the seller a check with no assurance of getting a title.

ive done this b4 with ge money bank.. u send them the check.. the sucky part is they wont send you the title. they might say they will but it will go to the guy that has his name on the title ..so if you trust him to drop it by when the title comes in go ahead.. another thing i had trouble when i was calling to see what the status was they wouldnt let me because i wasnt the name on the paper work. it took me months to get my title but i finally did..
