My gut says you have a clutch not disengaging, this causing hard shifting and grinding. It'll be more obvious in lower gears, or when there is a big speed difference between input and output shaft speeds.
Good point. I would like to eventually take one apart to be able to know how to put one back together but if i don't have to take it apart, i certainly won't. haha

Let me know if you need the bottom end. I have one and some other odds and ends id let go of for reasonable price. Have TB race head as well.. Id let it all go for $100 If I remember correctly it has the bbr clutch springs as well But it has been about 5 years since its been togther so I am not 100% sure. Also have the larger cam for the race head. And bigger oil pump still in package. Add another 10 for the pump.

trust this guy ^^ he used to work at Motorcycles Unlimited, knows his stuff. I've bought spare parts off him before, no issues whatsoever.

Thanks for the offer. I will think about it.

We did resolve the problem. When he too the clutch cover off of the bike to paint it. He messed with the pressure screw. I simply re-adjusted the screw, tightened the nut and it's shifted like butter since.
