Exhaust question/suggestions...

Whats going on MH members,I recently purchased an 08 Gsxr with a full yoshi exhaust (r77) already on the bike.i want something a bit louder like the m4 gp style, but the previous owner welded the whole kit at all flanges...not sure wether to cut the pipe at the header and put a slip on or just leave it how it is.What do y'all think...I currently have a m4 from my previous 07 Gsxr but scared on attempting to cut the pipe.

Is the M4 you have a full exhaust? Or just the slipon? And is your bike a 08 1000?

You'll have to double check my info but...

That slip on wont fit on the yoshi headers, if in fact what you have on the bike is a full exhaust. That M4 slip on you have will only fit the OEM headers.

Also, 06-07 GSXR 600 / 750's were the same and the parts are interchangeable. I don't think a slip on for an 07 GSXR 600 will fit an 08. It might, but you should check the part number or check with M4.

And finally, if the bike has a "full exhaust" you'd be taking a step backwards by installing a slip on in place of a full exhaust.

An 06/07 slipon will fit a 08 stock header if its cut just infront of the cat and behind the setvalve . 06/07 have the slipon connection infront of the cat where the 08 is after and the cat is welded to the setvalve/header. Have no clue about the yoshi header fitting the slipon.
