Exclamation Sugar Land riders: hazard notification..

SL Riders,

I was out this morning early for a spin going north on University towards highway six. Before the Hwy 6 intersection there is a construction crew. They have closed the left lane with large orange barrels, and there is no warning of any kind of the closure. The hazard is compounded with a slight hill and bend making the zone a surprise. I was in the right lane, doing the 45 mph speed limit and a SUV came up on me in the left lane at 60 mph plus. Fortunately he braked hard, squealed, and did not hit me or push me off the road.

It would have been a worst case scenario. My high visibility white full face helmet, white/black jacket and yellow Kawa helped.

Pushing out this morning I saw a guy on a gorgeous Harley at Lexington and First Colony: flip flops, shorts, t-shirt, no helmet. I gave him a thumbs up and a head shake and went on my way.

Be careful out there in Sugar Land!

cheers,
Lucydad
