BBR big bar questions

Ok I have been installing this big bar kit (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...T.ac=SLIsearch) and I am having some problems. I have the throttle cable hooked up to the tube on the bars but I am only getting maybe .5" of turn on the throttle. I have the slide and everything completely disconnected from the carb because I thought maybe it was being put in a bind there but no luck.

I just hooked it all back up and it idles fine, if I shift into first it doesn't try and take off or anything. I put it back in neutral and as long as I ease the limited throttle I do have to wide open it revs up to max just fine and will hold there no problem. However, if I just go from idle to WOT, it bogs and tries to die. If I leave it wide open for maybe 2-3 seconds after bogging it does die. I'm not real sure what would cause this

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it. I'm really looking forward to riding it tomorrow if I can get this ironed out. Thanks in advance

well if u didnt live out in the middle of no where...... you have it put on the throttle tube correctly? should kinda go in that hole, then wrap around it.

I dunno how that one is suppose to be setup specifically, but mine looks very similar and my cable end is on the bottom portion of the "case" that holds the assembly.

Wire routing looks fine to me as well...don't think that's the problem.

I'm not sure what the deal was, I rode it around for several hours at a couple different spots and it seems to be running fine going wot right off the bat now. Definitely a shorter throw than stock, but I'm not complaining haha

With the stock bars I could get it to endo no problem, now with the new brake setup I can't seem to get it to lock up to get the end up. I've messed around with tightening up the nut at the brake end as well as tightening and loosing it at the lever, but haven't had any luck. I will probably mess with it some more once the sun goes down and it cools off outside.

Been riding for a few hours everyday, and finally showing some progress rocking my sitdowns. Still don't have them down pat though. I got my BBR rear spring on, still have the fork springs sitting in the box. Yesterday I put the IRC mb-38 tires on and popped the stock front and rear tube doing it, luckily I expected that too happen and had picked up extras lol. Those little tires kicked my !

BBR big bar questions

Went riding a few hours ago to try out the new tires and rapped out it seemed to be struggling, especially in 3rd gear. Not sure what the deal was but I will try and mess with it tomorrow, maybe do a fresh oil/filter change and see if I can find a Uni air filter or something similar for it.

Just went riding over at the high school to get it warmed up for the oil change and was coming down the sidwalk about to cross over to my street when I look up and see a State Trooper coming at me. Damnit! So I do a two fingered wave off the handlebar hoping he will keep going.. no luck. I look back and he is pulling a u-turn coming right back at me. So I go ahead and cross over to my street and pull into my driveway and sure enough there he is right behind me. He gets out and first thing he says is "I'm not going to mess with you for riding on the street, we had a report of a stolen xr about a week ago." Phew.. I go on to tell him I have the title and everything and he seemed real cool then asked if I had anymore dirt bikes, so I showed him the 450 tard', and then we talked for about 30 minutes about the bikes that he has had and sold. Turns out he lives just up the street from me, and he was definitely interested in popping wheelies on the 50, I offered but he declined haha.

Anyways thought I would share a good cop story since they don't come around often

So in an effort to troubleshoot the sputtering/bogging on the top end I decided the spark plug was the next logical step. I pulled it and it was definitely pretty black, I will work on throwing a pic up in a few. I went all over town looking for the stock NGK c6hsa spark plug this morning but no one had any, so I picked up an NGK c7hsa since I saw on one of the mini forums they were being run with success. Threw it on took it to the lot and still no joy

Anyone else using that plug or should I put in an order for a few of the c6's?

Found the culprit!

Where the airbox was connected to the carb had come loose and was sucking in air from the sides. It looks like it was like this before and maybe the PO tried to silicone around it. Well I pulled off the whole airbox and had a Uni filter here for the PW I am rebuilding. I threw that on and reattached the ground cable that was on the same bolt as the airbox, and it is running sweet now. I just have a hose that goes to nothing where the airbox used to be
