i'm not trying to stir the pot, but you said yourself that the part "will work (not well, but it will run)" i doubt the op wants something to just work, and i think he should know that there is more involved in the swap than just a motor.

op, $1200 does seem a little pricey. honestly, with some luck, you could be able to find a motor for half that.

1200 is a lot. that.

I have changed a motor on my 1st bike. Piece or frigging cake. I didnt even know what the I was doing back then, just used the manual and took a lot of pictures. DOnt forget the thread lock and torque wrench.

Just keep shopping around, be patient.

$1200 is a good price if it comes with a guarantee and knowledge of where it came from with mileage.

Did you know the crankcase alone is $2500+ for a new one?? You guys kill me....

Funny. You know how nhch a swing arm for a bike is new? Last one I priced was like 800. Got one used immaculate for 60. Doesn't mean squat how much it is new.

I'm not gonna pay 1200 because someone told me where it came from and what the mileage is supposed to be.

I take a compression tester and flashlight to get a peek into the cylinder. Check the oil, etc....

I dont give a it a bike has only 8000 miles if it was ridden like and the oil never changed.
