I have to thank Otis for showing me a shortcut out, and also towing me out of the woods. I still haven't got the bike to fire up. Also, I have this huge knot in my foot from trying to kick it so much.

I will pull the valve cover off and check the valve clearances. I hope that is the end of the bike problems. I was asked by my wife if I would like to sell all my bikes and get just 1 bike...I think I see a KTM electric start in my near future.

People about the extra weight from a starter and battery, but I LOVE my electric start on my CRF.

I would openly welcome a magic button after this weekend. My foot is black and blue from my kickstarter. It kicked back a week ago in tennis shoes, and this weekend just made things far worse.

This weekend started off poorly for me. I left the house, only to get to Katy and remember that I left my helmet at the house. Turned around. Returned to get stuck for 30 minutes on an exit ramp at I-10 and Grand Parkway. There was no way I could make the Saturday race.

Sunday, I really wasn't all that excited to race. My first lap of the race was plagued with a quarter turn throttle that wouldn't close. By 1/4 throttle, I mean, I could only open it 1/4 of the way. I banged my new handguards on a tree and the throttle was stuck. I did the first lap (about 42 minutes on my wristwatch) in cruise control. At scoring, Otis handed me a hammer and I was able to bang the handguards out. The second lap started off at a better pace until I stalled it on a loose rocky uphill. From there I spent 30 minutes trying to kick it over until I exhausted myself and sat down next to the trail for extraction.

Overall, I was not pleased with my or the bike's performance.

You left out the part about puking in your helmet.

Dinner was good, though.

Oh ! Totally forgot. Yes, on Saturday, I felt a vomit come on. So in a panic, I tried to remove my helmet, but ended up puking in my chin bar and gloves....

rough weekend.

Totally forgot, to tell you and Casper "thanks" as well for helping me get out of that hole I found myself in, and back up and running.

No problem. That's what practice laps are for.

The hole will forever be known as "Cliff's Canyon"

i finished my 1 lap, that's all i needed due to being the only one in D, so as soon as i put it in gear, i had already won the race, that's all i needed.

practice lap was tougher than the race lap for some reason, maybe because i was laughing so much. i could have handled a 2nd lap for sure but i doubt i could have covered the 3rd lap.

I'm going to kill the mechanic. I found that my bike was one tooth out of timing...that was probably why I had to be towed out of the woods.
