What's your favorite track and why?

Exactly as the title says... What's your favorite track and why?

I have been to GSS, MSRH, Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Texas World Speedway. LVMS and TWS (Texas World Speedway) were both in cars. I did the Richard Petty thing in LV. I did not like either track very much. They were somewhat boring. As a result, I don't have much interest in pounding TWS (Texas World Speedway) on a motorcycle. I want sharp turns. GSS and MSRH were done ONCE on a motorcycle. I have recently learned about Eagles Canyon and that looks to be a very very very difficult track but ... it looks like mad F-U-N...

As some of you know... I trek it out from Austin. Are there any tracks in the Austin area or San Antonio? Of course I know about the new track they're building for the MOTOGP. I can't wait!! And I sure hope there will be a school offering trackdays there.

I felt that MSRH was a bit too bumpy. I had no trouble with it but I sure hated the "repaired" section of the keyhole. I sure did LOVE the facilities at MSRH though...
Of course I need to experiment more but currently GSS is my favorite because I liked the challenge it put out on me. I absolutely loved the decreasing radius turns going counter-clockwise.

MSR-Cresson 3.1 track....probably the best track I ever attended (which also includes TWS (Texas World Speedway), ECR, MSRH, and GSS.)

One day I'll get on Road America and that will surely take the cake.

So far my fav is MSRH. I love the facilities and the wife doesn't mind going since they have such nice restrooms compared to other places. If the wifes happy I'm happy. lol. But MSRH just reminds me of my favorite backroad with a good combination of curves and straights and it fits me well on my gsxr1000 as it's not to tight.
TWS (Texas World Speedway) is my second fav as it's just a fun and fast track to ride. GSS beats out ECR for me and it's closer to me and a real heads up track. The facialites definantly lack compared to the others, but I think it's an excellant training track and is for sure to make me a better faster rider as it demands a higher level of rider awareness much like ECR does. All an all I'm just a Track Junkie so I find something great and challenging in most track I ride. I really want to try out the new New Orleans track and of course the new Austin track that is coming.

Isn't Road America in Wisconsin or thereabouts? Why is it the ultimate track for you? I was really asking for tracks within a reasonable driving distance... If we're talking across America then I've got to roll with Laguna Seca. I have a friend who actually raced there often. I have heard sick things about their corkscrew.

RA is in Elkhart Lake, WI. I spent my high school years and college days attending AMA races there every summer and rode the track on a parade lap with my Katana way back when and I fell in love....and I have friends that are instructors there with STT and my folks live in Chicago so it'll happen sooner or later. Just have to find the time and $$$. I guess it's a sentimental thing.

I've been mainly a GSS dude. It's super smooth.

Then I tried MSRH and I was like "what's GSS??"

THANKS!!! I just looked it up. Apparently we have to sign up for a monthly fee only to get notifications about trackdays. Not so sure about that but I guess I will just pay it and try it out since its in my backyard.

No diagram or info on the track itself though...

you need to hit up MSRC 3.1 track then...fast in sections, technical in sections, and some elevation too!

Harris Hill is a very nice track.

From the tracks that I've ridden, here is my order of preference:

1.- ECR, you better have good brakes though.
2.- MSRC 3.1
3.- TWS (Texas World Speedway)
4.- H2R
5.- MSRH
6.- GSS

If I don't sell my bike, I will do Barber in August. For what I've heard, that track will change the above preference.

Sounds like this one needs to be reprioritized on my list. I put Cresson down low on my list because it looks a little boring and simple. Sounds like I would be very wrong...

the short 1.3 part of the course has most of the elevation and can be a little redundant if run without the remainder of the course, but when combined with the 1.7 (or 1.8 or whatever is) it is pure kick . That track is smooth as butter too and why it was on the top of my list after ECR. I like elevation, blind corners, etc and MSRC has got a bit of everything....plus nice facilities!

I like watching at TWS (Texas World Speedway). Great spectator areas and that front straight is music hearing the bikes shift through the gears

TomLSTD did a write up on Texas tracks, but I can't find it....was it in an LSTD sponsor forum and now gone? It was an awesome read....Tommy boy, if you have that document saved, post it up here!
