...I didn't see that you had a streetfighter in your "why a tard" thread....you will find that the big difference (besides the power) between your duc streetfighter and a tard is the more upright positioning. When I rode the street fighter after getting off of the hypermotard, you can feel all the weight on your wrists, due to its superbike body positioning. The hypermotard was obviously more flickable and lightweight feeling, but I think the upright vs. forward plays into that a lot.

The streetfighter is a slick bike. I loved the feel of it, but I thought it was weird to be on a naked bike, that far forward. I almost felt like i could reach over the bars and touch the front tire.

If I had the unlimited space, and the wife that would let me own all motos, I'd certainly have one in my garage.

To make a short story long...

One of my friends got a Streetfighter a few months ago and he likes it. He has done several mods, bars, risers, exhaust etc. to make it awesomer.
I have had my bike for 10 years and only kept it so long because nothing else blew my skirt up... til now.
Man, I get the sweats when I look at the streetfighter, 155HP and the claimed dry weight is about the same as a GSXR600!!
How long have you had your's and would you recommend it? (fap fap fap)

What are the differences between the Streetfighter vs. Monster?

Why would someone choose one over the other?

Well I have the Monster and it's awesome, but it's not the streetfighter. The streetfighter is basically the 1098 with no fairings.... Monster IMO has more comfortable ergonomics....

I chose the monster bc when I sat on the streetfighter my nuts were being crushed by the gas tank... and I felt for every day city riding the monster would be more comfortable. Also the clutch pull on the streetfighter is rather tough

Would the monster compare to the Triumph Speed Triple? Or would that be the Streetfighter?

the monster would compare to the speed triple. Like I said, the streetfighter is basically Ducati's SS 1098 with no fairing.

I like the Monster, but I also like the Speed Triple.

I guess it just comes down to preference and price.

Thinking of another bike...... car will have to sleep outside.

I don't know much about Ducati nor Triumph, so I'm starting to do a little bit of research.

I don't know anyone with either one. That's gonna be a tough one.
