Crack-smokin Craigslist seller...wow!!

Okay - for those of you that are into HDs you'll know this IS an awesome bike. I'm NOT knocking the bike at all. FXR's will always been 1 of the best riding/handling bikes HD ever produced and they have an almost cult-like following. BUT...really...almost $15k for this bike...I don't think so!!! That's about 100% more than the asking price should be (or higher).

Some people think that every aftermarket part they add contributes it's retail price to the value of a vehicle. Eventually they find out they're wrong.

Well...it's more than an opinion. I've owned several HDs including FXRs...1 of which was a FXR3 - CVO (later became the Screamin Eagle division of HD) limited production model built by hand in the HD CVO plant that even today it wouldn't be appropriate to list at a price like that. That IS a very sweet bike...I completely agree...it's just really only about a $7000-8000 bike at best in this market.

It will sit for a while. My 1st thought was the owner's wife or GF (maybe both ) was and wanted him to "put it for sale", so he listed it at a price nobody would take seriously. That's what I'd do too!!

As long as there is somebody willing to pay that much, the price is right...

When I sell a bike I add up all the interest, taxes, add on parts (at full retail), registrations paid, etc. That's my starting point for negotiating. Doesn't matter if the bike is one day old or 10 years.

I owned an old 1986 FXRS. Great bike. Made my FXDX feel like in comparison. Dyna frames suck.

ding! ding! ding! we just sold an 87 fxr with a brand new motor and paint 9500. shiny stuff doesn't make your bike worth any more. just more you have to polish.

well I'll remember to never buy anything from you, the interest if your problem not mine nor does it add a thing to the bike, registrations add on parts are also your problem tires and all that . the bike is worth at the most KBB value at retail and most of the time it worth somewhere between the retail and trade in. so remember your not really a good seller.

It's Kingwood. Some rich old midlife crisis'er will buy it at that price because he had a girlfriend in his 20's cheat on him with a guy that rode a bike the same color. Lots of money being thrown around this area and not all of it being thrown in what most of us non-rich people would consider wise investment strategies.

I think the option of "Standard" Harley transmission ups the price. If was automatic it would be worth less.
