Well, the rain gear works!

Heard all the news reports of horrible weather heading this way, so I didn't think twice about leaving the bike home today and taking the truck to work. Thing is, the truck didn't agree with me.

Went outside, turned the key, and NOTHING! Dead. No idea why. I added some spare fuel to make sure that wasn't the reason, but it still wouldn't turn over.

The only option I had was to gear up and head out on the bike. The thunder and lightning were amazing, but best viewed from the comfort of the great indoors!

I must have gotten some pretty strange looks from the folks I shared the road with, but as long as I took it slow and paid attention to everything around me, I had no doubt I would make it to work in one piece.

My new Tourmaster boots are, in fact, waterproof as advertised. My rain gear was flawless, and the only issue I had was my visor fogging. I have a Respro Foggy insert, but I forgot to put it in my helmet before leaving the house. My neck was a little wet, as were the lower two inches of my pant legs, but that's it!

YAY for all-purpose bikes and proper gear!

I thought about riding the bike this morning but didn't.

When I looked at the weather when I got to the office I was glad that I didn't.

Nope. Hasn't been started in a week, but I've never had issues with it before. I think it might just be a drained battery that needs a jump - I was charging my GPS in it last week and haven't turned the key since. I'll have to figure it out after work tonight.

man it sucked this morning so bad... i walked outta class and it's pouring rain. all i could think was ****! Then i get to the main road to where i live... and this blonde in a corolla would keep pacing me to my side. I slow down, so would she, i sped up, so would she. I didn't want her to splash me and that's exactly what happened cuz that didn't catch the hint. Wellp, got splashed three times in mud water and walked into my apartment covered in mud. SO much fun! On top of that, it was pouring, like i said, so i was soaking wet.
