Throttle cable sticks

I just bought a 03 636 with 22k miles and the throttle cable sticks just a little bit. It makes it impossible to rev match while down shifting so I want to get it fixed as soon as possible. Any advice on where to start looking for where it is sticking or how to fix it?

There should be adjustments right at the throttle. Two plastic type jam nuts; one for throttle and one for return. Take some playing with to get it perfect. You can also lift the tank and adjust it at the throttle body(s) as well.

I know where the adjust points are but it is sticking somewhere and I don't know where. Are there any spots that are known to get the cable binded up?

Make sure the grip is not the one causing it. Sometimes the grip touches the bar sliders or bar weights and it doesn't allow for a smooth return

I started with the simple stuff first and I am glad I did. It was the bar end screwed in to far not giving the grip enough room to rotate freely.

That means u need to either trim the grip or push grip up some. Don't leave bar end backed out
