didn't they finally ban trucks from going up that road?
It ain't that bad.. and no they still have semi's going over.. saw one a couple weeks ago when we were there...

The problem is on the weekends and over the summertime, when you have way too many people on the same stretch of road.

We rode it like 10 times over 5 days. Saw two Harleys in the ditch, multiple people either on the line or across it, followed people in both cars and bikes that had no clue what they were doing and had no business being on the Dragon.

But at the same time, you go ride other great roads around there, and see hardly anyone.

awww, I was going to post my pics from the gap, but I'm not crashing in any of them.

You definitely see some stupid out there, but in the week I rode there I didn't see a single semi on the dragon, and asshattery was to a minimum.

Don't bypass the "Dragon", as said, go during the week. Also, check out the Cherohala Skyway, THAT is a great road (just don't tell anybody). 50 miles of sweepers, no crossroads, no traffic and awesome views.
Texlurch, mentioned the Foothills Parkway, if that's the road I'm thinking of, I went 6.1 miles with the engine off and no hands on the handlebars there. Just neutral, downhill and steering with body english. Kinda cool.

Do they rent full on motards? or are you thinking of the KLR650s? I saw the KLR's for rent, and the sport bike rental places. Would be cool to fly out there and rent a tard for the weekend.
