It looks painful even healed up. Must have been awful when it happened. To all who say "It's my choice, I don't care if I die while ridin', I died doing what I loved", remember, not everyone dies. Some live on as vegetables for years and their families have to carry that burden, and they didn't get a choice. ATGATT.

If you know her story, and you've read her website, to see her smile in this and be comfortable in her own skin showing those scars, it's a really moving video, and the music choice helped send a message. What she went through was and back, and anyone who risks that, well... Makes me think twice about leaving a jacket behind on a hot day

There is another chic, same story with a web sight. Sad such bright, lovely girls have to learn such painful lessons.

If you chose to ride with out all your gear, that is your choice but your passenger may not be wise. Their well being is YOUR responsability.

great video. too bad there a meatheads on this forum and out in the public that refuse to believe that anything can happen to them. they even have the mentality that even if it does happen to them that it won't be that bad and they can handle a few scars.

I don't feel so bad for dudes or even chicks if they are the driver.

Defacto you are responsable for your monkey though. One reason I have never been a big fan of 2 up.

One of the reasons I don't have the sidecar anymore is my son didn't want to gear up to go ride. No gear, no ride...

Back on topic, I bet that chick is bad cool.

I applaud her. It takes a lot to get back on the bike after an major incident and a lot to advocate the cause.

And you're back on 2 as well.

Some people will never listen or believe that it will be them. I've been scrubbed. I have scar tissue. I learned too. If all of our preaching and stories falls on deaf ears 99 out of every 100, there's still one person that won't have to learn the hard way.

I used to take a lot of from a particular rider back at our bike nights in Atlanta. He semi-jokingly used to call me Johnny racer, Speed Racer, poser boy and whatever came to mind for wearing my one-piece every time there. I had to ride 25 miles at highway speeds through Atlanta traffic/drivers to get there, and hardly felt overdressed considering. He usually wore a half-lid, boots and no other gear. He crashed one night and completely effed up a WHOLE lot of tattoo money on his side, back and arm. Saw him at bike night a couple months afterwards and he never made any comments to me about gear again...

Man ain't that the truth. I still find myself slipping when I have my girl with me as I give her my helmet. (Rather me die than her) but you will probably never catch me without my leathers.

The weeks of ripping off skin everyday isn't worth the few seconds it takes to zip up your jacket.

And yeah you think nothing is gonna happen... That's when it does.

I hate to laugh but...lol. I too have lost skin AND meat to concrete. I have stomach muscle covering a patch of elbow with a skin graft over that. I too caught a little flack for always wearing leathers. but I know better, been there, done that, bought the t-shirt
