All I can say to those that agree with this behavior from the police is this quote, it was said by a pretty smart guy. People have come and gone through tthe generations dismissing people like him as outdated. Their detractors always have and will always be wrong.

This 'behaviour' being precisely what? Having vehicles slow down enough to get a clear look if the registration tag/inspection weren't expired? Want your 'liberty' then protest by walking, riding a bicycle or using public transportation.
There is no invasion of privacy, you're not being asked for travel papers.

I think it's awesome because a big reason we get backed up is the single-occupant violators being where they shouldn't. Like the two dickheads getting tickets this morning when I went by.
