Differnt Tire Compounds.

I needed a new front tire for the street and picked up a Pirelli take off for pretty cheap. I really like the way it feels. I have a bt016 on the rear and I really like that as well. I am planning on doing a track day probably in august or septemter. If my front tires isnt done by then. Will I be ok to run 2 differnt compounds. I have been advised against it. I just want to hear everyones opinon.

I've done a lot of things people say not to do, but I wouldnt do that.. You never know when the limits of one tire's grip, may give before another. Crashing sucks. Period.

While I agree with Mark, I don't think you'd find the limits of either tire on your first trackday.............barring doing something stupid like grabbing a fistful of brake that would overload ANY tire.

THAT is what I was thinking. I know they are both good tires and my level of preformance will not be extreme.

I run different front and rear compounds at every track. Same brand though. We do run different brands on the 250. It's not as big a deal as some would have you believe.

I refuse to listen to you until your avatar properly reflects that gorgeous new paint job on your track bike.
