...say hello in the Introductions...

I'm not new to biking, been riding since back in the 70's. Yeah, that kinda dates me but I've had some great years and don't mind claiming them.

My newest toy, a Triumph Speed Triple, has solidified the grin once again. I know the numbers will catch up with me; you can only have so much fun before Johnny Law sees you doing it, but I just can't help it.

I have a hard time adjusting back to the cruiser when I get on it. The cruiser seat is too low, the controls are in the wrong place, the throttle stiff and needs too much twist, the bike just isn't responsive enough.

You'll see me on the Katy HOV every weekday - hot or cold, rain or shine, that's how I get to work. Yep, that fool out there in the 20-degree weather this February was me.

No matter how hot the summers get, though, full gear is on. I have had a couple of hospital visits over the years and the gear has lessened the damage every time. If not for the helmets I wouldn't be here now. I hate to see people looking like they are in a car instead of on a bike, knowing there is that idiot driver who 'never saw him'. Road rash sucks and broken bones keep you off the bike too long.

OK, push the soapbox out of the way - time to go riding.

It was nice riding into town with you this morning! Welcome to the forums, have you known about it or was it my decals that brought you here? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing you and that speed triple on my commute to work! Hope you can make it to the Katy/Cypress M/G on Wednesdays! Let your daughter know about the site as well (not that you haven't already)

It was your decals. I am in a couple of Triumph forums but just got the speed triple on tax day so I hadn't found a sport bike forum yet. I can see this one can suck up as much time as I will allow it to.

I haven't told Kelly yet but will later. She is down in Corpus Christi taking summer classes so I try not to text her during those hours. TAMUCC and stole my riding buddy from me. :(

Wednesday is wife's late night at work so that may just work out. It's a bit late for supper so maybe I'll grab a bite before...
