I'm surprised the Streetfighter fared so poorly. Maybe it's the racetrack environment where they did the test, there was no mention of any road testing.
IMHO a naked bike comparo should be weighted to the street with a track component for measuring the performance side of the ride. I would be interested in hearing at least a little about the ergos, the driveability and day to day ownership experience, instead of heads up performance only.

I agree. Nowadays it seems way too much emphasis is put on track performance sometimes at the expense of street worthiness.

I personally love how my monster rides on the street. Not meant for the track

I don't like the idea of traction/wheelie control on a hooligan bike.

I'm liking the CB1000R so far, based on everything I've read about it. Particularly in regard to how it maintains its street worthiness, with more performance and punch to which the 919 was lacking. Always wanted a Speed Triple though!

I would agree. Most nakeds never see the track anyways, but I am always rooting for Aprilia. They have never really achieved a big commercial success in the US anyways, so I see them as sort of an underdog Buell type company. It's nice to see them come out with some really killer sport bikes after switching to their own engines in lieu of the sourced Rotax motors. That being said this bike will be mine one day. I've heard that they may not come out with a base model without the electrickery in the US. I hope that's not true because it will make the bike really expensive.
