Biker Hurt before Controversial Hwy. 75 Rally

Seems to me, this guy was minding his own business...

http://www.myfoxdfw.com/dpp/news/060...#ixzz1Ob3BtQI6

Quote:
DALLAS - One of the motorcyclists headed to a Memorial Day weekend rally that shut down a Dallas freeway was hurt in a crash before the event.

Brian Hampton said he was asked to join the ride for a couple of fallen bikers. He agreed, but claims he didn’t know the group would end up blocking traffic on Highway 75 at Mockingbird Lane to do stunts and spray graffiti.

Hampton didn’t even make it to the event. On his way there another biker lost control while riding a wheelie.“When I looked over all I saw was his bike coming over on top of me. And then from that point on I just remember hitting the ground sliding and then another bike hit me,” he said.

Hampton suffered a bad case of road rash on his arm and his ankle was broken so badly it required surgery.

“Five guys I remember by name actually helped me, out of the hundreds I knew that were there,” he said.

The rider who hit him rode away.
For days the incident has been posted on YouTube for everyone to see. But Hampton claims the biker community that once felt like a brotherhood is now blocking him from finding the person who hit him.

“I’m upset. There’s nothing I can do. You know, this guy just hit me. The whole world knows. I mean it's all over YouTube. I even posted my phone number on YouTube for this guy to mall and just apologize at least,” he said.

Dallas police are also interested in the group.

Officers reportedly were unable to do anything about the bikers obstructing traffic because they fled and the department has a strict chase policy.

“The reckless and illegal behavior of the motorcyclists is of great concern to the police department. We continue to work to identify those involved and will take appropriate enforcement action against them,” police said in a statement.

Hampton said his passion has always been motorcycles and he’s done his share of risky riding. But the 35-year-old husband and father may be done.

“I don’t even want to ride on the streets anymore. That's the only thing I ever loved to do. That's the only think I've felt like I've ever lived for. And I don't even want to do it anymore because of one person,” he said.

Hampton said his insurance is taking care of him. Still he believes making things right is the other rider’s responsibility. He has hired an attorney to help him get it done.

Looks like it might take that to out some of the jackasses who put this on. Bad way for someone to go down, but if it takes any of those asshats down then I think it was meant to be.

I'd imagine it's one of the 'groups' or <cough> "clubs" that were in 'attendance'.

The dumbass that hit the other rider is a weak little for running like that. Maybe they should raise the age limit at which you are allowed to ride a sport bike. Seems these boys don't know how to respect them.

Yep, that's why trucks have the cattle guards on the front, isn't it?

If he were wearing a leather jacket and some full length boots, more than likely he would've just had some bumps and bruises.

I hope he doesn't get back into riding again... one less douche on the street.

Some would say had he been in a car none of it would have happened. Plenty on the street may call you a douche. Just think about it. You just decided his riding should end and he is a douche based on his level of protection when hit by another rider.
